MCM // Comic Con Birmingham 2013

Oh deary me!
It has been forever since I've blogged.
Best get a move on then!

MCM 2013
Birmingham NEC

Alrighty then, here we go!
So, this year was my first time going to Comic Con. Due to lack of funding and a terrible incident involving my chosen cosplay, I couldn't go to Comic Con in London. HOWEVER, I did get to attend Comic Con in Birmingham at the NEC, and to say the least, it was FANTASTIC!

Not only did I get to see some awesome cosplays and meet some awesome people, I got to meet the stars of one of my favourite British television comedy series... but more about that later!

The journey to Comic Con was more or less a peaceful one, if you count being stuck by the door between the carriages as a minor problem it was pretty smooth. :P

'Here we see the nerds out of their natural habitat... they have to act like chimpanzee's  to make themselves feel at home... especially the one in red...'

The journey from the trainstation was a long and treacherous one. I was under the impression it was going to be very simple and easy....

And when we finally arrived! Oh dear! The line was so long I couldn't see the end of it!

Skipping all the boring stuff I'll just get to all the AWESOME cosplays and people we met!
Here we go!

There were TONS of Storm Troopers, and a fair amount of boogie night dancing coming from Gangster Preditor here who played music from his 'BB' all the way around the line to keep the people waiting entertained! ;)

So we saw Agent 47 and a couple of girls I used to hang around with in town back in the day!
<3 Rachel and Jess <3

This guy stood on my foot! He didn't look very sorry...

WAHEY! Keira, Anthony, Channah and Leanne met Duff Man! I met a couple of Levi's ;) hehe

This cosplay of ... erm... the dude from BioShock was aweasome! Brilliantly thought out! Also, Anthony met Emily Booth, who is totally hot and awesome.

  Me and Shez met an amazing cosplayer of Jack Sparrow! We weren't sure if he was actually drunk or not... he was that in character! c;

This father son duo was awesome, really nice guys too! :3

Me and Ant met the dude from Human Centipede 2 :P

Holding that baby crocodile wasn't as scary as I thought it would be! It was cold and soft! So awesome!

A fricken awesome Ratchet and Clank cosplay!

This zombie cosplayer was definitely the best I've ever seen! I did everything I could to get him to break character, except poking him... erm.. ANYWAY, he stayed in character the whole time! Totally scary and amazingly amazing this zombie stalked off broken ankle pretty much hanging off :P

'Time for a snack'

Me and Anthony were beat to death by Judge Dredds? XD aha

Dr Octopus and SpiderMan!
And oh my cherries, I NEED that massive blow up Minion!! o:

Unfortunately I can only name two of the cosplayers here!
Master Chief and Phoenix Wright!
The others are awesome I'm just not familiar with them! Sorry! <3

Aww... I wish I had taken more photos!
Lets end on something totally awesome....

UMBRELLA Corp person dude was awesome. Let me hold his crossbow [it was real!] and Channah hold his pistol! [hopefully not real!]

Hopefully I'll be able to go again next year, too!
Thanks for looking!

How to look like a boy???????

How's it going everyone?
So I have to admit, I am a fan of VenusAngelic and go crazy when it comes to how she does her makeup.

I decided to take her video "How to look like a boy" and give my result and interpretation of her makeup tutorial.
VenusAngelic's 'How to look like a boy' video:

Here is how my makeup looked when I had finished!
The eyebrows I decided to do a little bit thicker like suggested and also darker than my natural hair colour. [In truth I just used a black Stargazer eyeliner!]
I'm not wearing a wig here either guys!
I tied my hair back (which is about shoulder length) and left my fringe loose, ruffling it up a little to give it that stereotypically rough boy look.
If i was going to use this look for cosplay, i'd either have to pin my hair up pretty well, or resort to the suggestion of wearing a wig! [Which, you probably will have guessed by now, is no problem!]

In my interpretation of Venus' tutorial, I chose instead of using the more shimmery colours she originally chose, to use stark and slightly darker natural colours. The picture does make it look darker than it actually is, but the affect is definitely noticeable!
I used a light brown colour on the outside of the eye and inner corner and a light greyish colour for the top of the eye. Admittedly here it does appear like the "dirty skin" look.

As for my lips, I chose to only use the lightest dab of concealer as I think too much can overpower the look. Also, I think the darker contact lenses make a whole lot of difference with this makeup.

Anyway, it was a very fun tutorial to try out and I hope others can get as much fun out of it as I did!
If anyone else has any makeup ideas or tips I would very much love to hear them.
Thanks for reading everyone!
