Lolita Fashion Diary: #2 - Angelic Pretty, versatility and budget!

Entry #2
Angelic Pretty order and versatile pieces!

Ah... the concept of the brand whore... contrary to what most new lolita's believe, and have learned myself over the past three or four months, lolita's DO NOT have to own brand to actually BE a lolita. I believed that only lolita's with full Angelic Pretty or BABY, The Stars Shine Bright coords were taken seriously and everything was expected to be brand and expensive! This is of course not the case, and as a lolita with an embarrassing amount of off brand and second hand store items which I use in my coords it's probably better that people know this!
However, it isn't bad at all either if your coords do consist of just brand items! If it makes an amazing coord, then whats the problem?! Of course this goes for off brand items too, if it looks good and you feel good in it, why does there have to be a hefty price tag and a brand name? ;) Of course, the answer is... there doesn't! [Additional : Make sure when using off brand items in your lolita that they actually ARE lolita or at least loliable, specifically when it comes to skirt length and shape!]

If you are pressed on buying a brand item, (like I was and I will explain why in a little while...) and you can afford it and get the best out of it, go ahead! On the other hand, if you're like me, and can't afford a very expensive piece from a brand perhaps you could invest in a very versatile piece you could use for many coords, such as accessories and parkas!

.
.
And that brings me nicely to what I want to show you all today!
It's freezing here in England proably 70% of the time, and I don't actually own a lolita coat that is versatile enough to fit with all of my coords, so I decided to go ahead and buy an Angelic Pretty Parka that I could just put on with my coords to keep warm, but keep that cute, lolita look! To go along with my Parka, I got a cute Sweet Cream Biscuit ring in pink that would be great for any simple or OTT look, so I can get the most out of both of these pieces and have that feeling of owning a great quality item that won't just be sitting in my wardrobe forever and worn probably once every 4 months! (Which is what would happen if I bought an Angelic Pretty JSK for example!)

My order was packaged very neatly, in cute pink packaging. Opening it did take me a few minutes! Too much selotape... o.o'
The ring came in a little cardboard box and the Parka was in a protective plastic package and wrapped in adorable pink tissue paper! The Parka was folded beautifully so the print on the front wasn't folded to reduse the risk of cracking and or flaking. c: I was very pleased with this!

(Poter Chocolate Parka in Ivory and Sweet Cream Biscuit in Pink)

This is the Parka and ring together! The Parka I got is ivory in colour and beautifully soft; it's made out of 100% cotton. I absolutely adore the gold trim detailing on the hood and the cute little ears that are not too prominant to divert attention away from the print itself. While being only one set size (from what I could see) the Parka fits me quite nicely, having quite a large bust I was worried that the Parka fitting would be a problem, but it fits lovely! Something I didn't realise until I put it on is that the Parka has little pockets at the side! (Just out of camera shot) These are terribly useful, especially if I don't feel like taking a bag out with me, so I could put my phone and purse in there for example!
The ring is absolutely adorable and really comfortable to wear. It is made of a thick coloured plastic amd is amazingly cute and if treated right I think it will last me a very long time. Ever since I've had it I have been wearing it every day with my sixth form clothes and have had many nice comments!

All in all I'm really happy with my purchase and am totally satisfied that both of these items will be worn to within an inch of their lives! :3 I'd rather that than spend £200 on a JSK that I wouldn't wear much! ...I already said that didn't I? :P

With budgets I've found you have to be terribly careful. As an impulse buyer I am awful with budgets. If I see something I like, I will buy it regardless. (That's if I have the money!) The only problem with this is that I can end up with many different pieces with none of them fitting together at all! By the time I've realised this I have no money left to buy the things that would actually fit together to create a full coord! So planning your coords one at a time and pacing yourself with your buying is something I would heavily recommend!

I hope you're all having a great day!
Thank you for reading!

Lolita Fashion Diary: #1 - Metamorphose Winter Lucky Pack 2013!

Metamorphose Winter Lucky Pack 2013
Ok, so, for ages I've reallllllly wanted to get into the Lolita fashion and haven't been able to do so. However, recently I have been able and I am slowly building my wardrobe from the ground up!
This post is just to show you a little new addition to my wardrobe that was delivered to me today...
It wasn't that expensive... UNTIL Parcel Force decided to charge me a handling fee AND I had to pay import tax ON TOP.
But enough of that... Lets get to the cute things! c:

Contents of the lucky pack:
1x
-Skirt
-Shirt
-Socks
-Bag
-HairBow and Necklace

On the left is the GORGEOUS head bow and on the right is the ADORABLE necklace.
These are really well made, especially the head bow! It's beautiful and clips in to my hair very easily. :3

This is the design of the socks on the back! [The picture is terrible, I'm sorry!]

Here is the full Lucky Pack!
The bag is a simple tote and ideal for summer and casual coords.
I'm not sure what series the skirt comes from, but It's an adorable shade of pink and off white and I love it! It's fully shirred so it's super stretchy and easy to wear!
The shirt is quite a shiny material and I don't really think it fits with the skirt, but it's still cute and comfortable! It's also shirred at the back for maximum comfort.
The socks don't quite match the skirt's colour, but it's close enough to not matter so much! They're still adorable!

Here's the detail at the bottom of the skirt!
:3

This is the lucky pack all together!
I really love all the pieces individually, but I don't think they all go together!
In separate coords I think they might look better!

[EEP. The inside bit of the collar is sticking up! D: ]
This is how I styled the head bow in my hair! I think it's super cute and easy to do, especially if you're in a rush!
Thank you for looking everyone and I hope those of you who got Winter Lucky Packs or... any other kind of lucky pack for that matter, were very lucky and got everything you wanted!
Thank you for looking!
