30 Day Lolita Challenge: (Days 10 and 12)

Hey, everyone!

So, I'm skipping another day (11) because it will be easier for me to do that one on a Saturday, when I can picture my whole Lolita day. Sooo, because of that and making up for missing my post yesterday I'll do two in one today!

Day 10 of the challenge is:
What's in your bag?! Let's do it!

 Here's my bag! It's an Anna Smith backpack c:

Seeing as I'm a student in high school my bag is constantly filled with books, pens and pencils, workbooks and mock exam papers. c:
Nothing cute, but all necessary!










I always need my mock exam questions so I can practise for my exams!
(I don't always want to do the exam papers... but I have no choice if I want to get good grades!)

I carry my One Piece umbrella at all times! Not only because it's fricken AWESOME, but because English weather is shitty, and you always need an umbrella on hand ;)












Like anyone I carry a fruitful amount of cosmetics and hair accessories etc with me in my bag.

Depending on the day I usually carry a couple of other things in my bag like my lanyard, a bottle of water, some lunch and my keys! C:
So that's all I carry in my bag. Every day. I'm surprised my back isn't broken yet!

ACTUALLY, I DO STILL DRESS LIKE THIS WHEN I CAN'T BE BOTHERED, IT'S JUST SIMPLE AND EASYYYYYYY..... BUT NOT AS OFTEN AS I USED TO.

NO DOUCHE BAG SHADES OR HAIR EXTENTIONS! I WEAR PRETTY WIGS NOW INSTEAD!
I DON'T REALLY WEAR A RING IN MY NOSE ANYMORE, EITHER, BUT THATS JUST BECAUSE I CAN'T BE BOTHERED.
MY JEWELRY STYLE HAS CHANGED, TOO. FROM BORING AND TRENDY TO ADORABLE AND RANDOM.





YAY.
When I've finished my next 2 coords I will put up some pics in comparison!

Today I'm going to be doing a post on my Lolita wardrobe so far. I got sick of waiting for the camera so I took the photos on my phone, sorry for the terrible quality! <3

That's all! My Lolita wardrobe is quite small at the moment, but i'm adding new items all the time! I hope I can have a big wardrobe so that I can wear Lolita at least three times a week!

30 Day Lolita Challenge: (Day 9)

 

I'm skipping 2 days in the Lolita challenge.
Day 7 - 10 people who inspire your Lolita style
Day 8 - 10 songs that inspire your Lolita style
I'm skipping these two because I have barely anything to write for them xD
When I do have enough things to write, I'll add them in! So we'll just skip to day 9!

 

Day 9 of the Lolita challenge is:
10 things you will NEVER do in Lolita! Let's do it!

I WILL NEVER:

1. Be mean to someone because I'm jealous they have something I want.
Apparently this is pretty common... Lolitas looking down on one another because they have that JSK or bag or whatever that they want and they just disassociate themselves with whoever for  that reason. Seems pretty silly to me! Jealousy is a terrible thing... ;]
 

2. Follow the guide lines perfectly.
The point of Lolita for me is expression. If my spin on the style doesn't exactly coincide perfectly with the not-rules-rules then I'm ok with that.

3. Be bothered if someone is wearing bloomers or not.
What other Lolitas wear underneath their skirts is their business! As long as I can't see their underpants then it's all good!

4. Pay full price for something when I don't have to.
Thrift stores, vintage shops, second hand sales. Yeah! What's the point of looking for something brand new when you can get it second hand or in charity/thrift stores for less? Never pay full price when you don't need to!

5. Wear a short sleeve blouse.
I hate short sleeve blouses. I just don't like my arms at all so I prefer to have them covered!

6. Not wear a blouse.
With the exception of really hot summer days I will never wear a JSK without a blouse. I just don't think it looks right! Plus it adds to the adorable and presentable aesthetics that goes with the Lolita look, which as I've said before is one of the main reasons I love it!

7. Wear nothing on my legs, e.g. socks, tights.
I love socks and tights so I don't know why I wouldn't wear them anyways! ;D

8. Resell something at a hiked price because that colour way is sold out.
I see this ALL THE TIME on sales comms and I just think it's super shitty. I mean, it's not even a little price hike to make a profit, it's a SUPER price hike even on brands like Bodyline which are super cheap anyway! It's sooo annoying and I think those Lolitas just need to stop doing it.

9. Be annoyed when people call Lolita a costume or ask what I'm 'cosplaying'.
Lolita is not a costume and I will never call it that but I know a lot of Lolitas get annoyed when people call it a costume and I don't know why. If you know it isn't then it shouldn't bother you. The only thing you can do is tell them it isn't. So in my opinion there's no reason to get annoyed, just move on and continue being frilly and cute!

10. Reject constructive criticism.
In my opinion the worst thing a Lolita can do is reject constructive criticism. Like I've said before, other Lolitas ideas on your coords are not set in stone and no one is saying you have to change it to suit them, but it's always worth noting their ideas to see where you could apply it if you're stuck with something that you don't think works that well just yet, and maybe needs a bit of tweaking so it gives you the right effect for your look.
I know that some Lolitas can be really harsh with their criticism and it can come across as borderline insulting rather than constructive, but I don't think that taking it to heart is going to do any good, so it's also worth noting their ideas too and understanding why they've pointed out the mistakes they have so you can improve in future! (Also, don't rise to mean Lolitas. In every small community or group there will always be someone or a little group who is mean and just thinks they are better than everyone else, but that's just life!)


And that's 10 things I will never do in Lolita!

30 Day Lolita Challenge: (Day 6)

 

Day 6 of the Lolita challenge is:

10 things you can't live without in Lolita!

10. SOCKS!!!!!!!!!!! I can't deal with not wearing socks in Lolita. I love them with every inch of my being! They keep your feets and your legs warms! They also look so cuteeee! If I haven't said that already! ;3

9. My Classical Puppets petticoat. It's just super poofy and awesome!

8. Sensible but cute shoes that I buy from Bodyline! All of my Lolita shoes are cheap and from bodyline. They fit well and are adorable and I don't tend to get blisters or anything from them! I need them for all my coords, cute and comfortable!

7. I need a wig. It's super rare I won't wear a wig if I'm in Lolita, but if I'm feeling lazy and am just in casual Lolita I might not wear one. :P

6. Simple pearl necklace. I love it because it goes with pretty much EVERYTHING. Even gothic coords look super chic with some simple pearls. I know a lot of Lolitas like pearl necklaces and usually will say it's a cute must have!

5. My rings. I need to wear rings with every coord. It's habitual now and I tend to wear my rings with every outfit, but especially with Lolita I need them, just as a little touch to match my coord!

4. Circle lenses. I am awful for circle lenses! I need them, because I just love how they make my eyes look! ;3 Though I kind of get annoyed when people say I look like a doll, but it's not really a bad thing. It's super cute!

3. Makeup. I need makeup when I'm wearing Lolita. I know some Lolitas prefer to not wear much or any makeup but I like to go a little overboard with eyelashes and lip tint etc...

2. Meets. I have to go to meets! After my first taste of a meet I need more! They're just super fun to attend and it's amazing to see other people's coords!

1. Great deals. In Lolita deals are musts! Why pay full price for something you can get for less?! ;)


So that's 10 things I cant live without in Lolita!
